Giant Gentle Pines

Oh, giant gentle Pines
You greet me at the gate
Stable in your structure
Patiently you wait.

Towering upright
Pointing towards your guide
Dignified, resolute
Pleasing to rest beside.

 Creatures seek your shelter
Sanctuary, your spine
Your limbs uphold songbirds
Whose melodies divine.

You shade me from the sun
Your pleasant scent I know
You meditate in stillness
Wisdom fills your soul.

Guardians of the green
Bestowing peace through the breeze
I know I am protected
In the presence of my trees.
